Temitope Odebiyi is the Number 1 female drummer in Nigeria, a solo performer and drum coach.
A graduate of History &Diplomatic Studies from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Masters in History &Strategic Studies from University of Lagos, Diploma in Music from MUSON School of Music &also studied percussion at d PeterKings College of Music.
Having performed for about 5years, she has carved a niche and she is popularly known as “Topsticks”. Her dexterity has awarded her platforms in major concerts /live programmes like Tejubabyface show, StarQuest Reality TV Show, Efizee Nite, MUSON festival, Drummer’s Festival &some International Music Seminar. She has also featured with several renowned artists like Victor Olaiya, Victor Uwaifo, Wole Oni, Bouqui, Wierd MC, MUSON Orchestra /Band, Mega Praise Crew, among others.
She is strongly influenced by good music &sound. Her role models includes: SheilaE, Cindy Blackman, Dave Weckle, Aaron Spears, Calvin Rodgers, Steve Smith &musicians around her.
Topsticks is the President of Wonderdrums (Music Clinic), the coordinator of Mega Praise Concert and the Director of Topsticks Band.
The band comprises Chinazor Anozie on the keyboard, Blessing Chibueze on the bass guitar, Titilola Simisola ( talking drum), Helen Ibe on th Lead Guitar, Tobi on the saxophone and Tope Odebiyi, the band leader, handles the drums.
